DRAFT FOR COUNCIL REVIEW
Know what is official.
ISGH’s published bylaws and membership materials are the official references linked below. The conduct guidelines and response process on this page are proposals for Council review; they are not represented as adopted ISGH bylaws, civil law, or a statement of legal penalties.
PUBLISHED ISGH MATERIALS
Bylaws & membership.
ISGH published an announcement about amendment of its bylaws and membership in 2021. Its membership information describes a Council approval process. Please ask ISGH for the current bylaws, amendments, eligibility, and fees before relying on historical terms.
For governance questions, request the latest approved documents from ISGH. Donations and sponsorship inquiries do not automatically grant membership or permission to fundraise at the masjid.

PROPOSED COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Care for the space. Care for one another.
Draft for Council review. Confirm adopted policies with ISGH.
Respect prayer & learning.
Keep phones quiet during salah, avoid conversations that interrupt worship or classes, and follow staff directions for prayer rows and shared spaces. Help new visitors understand the space with patience.
Make dignity the standard.
No harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, or discrimination. Respect personal boundaries and accessibility needs. Disagreements should be addressed calmly and without public shaming.
Ask before soliciting.
Seek the Council’s permission before collecting donations, campaigning, distributing fundraising appeals, selling goods, or promoting outside organizations on masjid premises or official channels. Do not pressure visitors for money or personal details.
Ask before photographing or recording identifiable people, especially children. Do not publish private contact details or messages without permission. Confirm the masjid’s current photography and child safeguarding policies with staff.
Keep prayer and wudu areas clean, dispose of waste, supervise children, and leave entrances and accessible routes clear. Report damage or maintenance concerns. Use equipment and rooms with staff approval.
Communicate with care.
Share verified announcements, respect volunteers’ time, and ask staff when you need help. Use the private concern form for sensitive matters. Sponsorship registration is an inquiry; it does not authorize a campaign or create a confirmed sponsorship.
This proposed process asks the Council to consider concerns privately, listen fairly, and explain any decision under the masjid’s current adopted policies. It does not establish automatic sanctions or penalties.
01
Share the facts privately.
Describe what happened, when and where it occurred, and the support you need. Avoid posting allegations publicly. The website’s concern form saves your message for the private administrator inbox.
02
Ask for Council review.
The proposed next step is a respectful review by the responsible Council members, with an opportunity for those involved to be heard and with conflicts of interest considered.
03
Agree on a proportionate response.
If adopted, the process should prioritize safety, clear expectations, and a chance to resolve concerns. Ask the Council how to request reconsideration of a decision under current policy.
